Online Conference 8 February 2023, 9:00am - 3:00pm
Dr Jo Cairns is currently undertaking a Career Development Fellowship funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research (2019-2024), based in the Hull York Medical School, University of Hull. Prior to that, she was a Lecturer in Health Promotion and Public Health at Canterbury Christ Church University (2017-19), a Senior Research and Policy Officer at what was formerly Alcohol Research UK, now Alcohol Change UK (2016-17), and a Post-Doctoral Research Associate/Teaching Fellow (2012-16) at Durham University.
Jo is passionate about redressing health inequalities through evidence-based research, focusing on improving cancer prevention and early detection among minority ethnic groups. She has a particular interest in how integrated care systems can help to address such inequalities through joined-up, collaborative approaches bringing together various stakeholders including, but not limited to, academics, the NHS, local authorities and the third sector.
