Online Conference 17 April 2024, 9:00am - 4:00pm
Barrie has been leading careers and employability services within Higher Education since 2011 and recently elected as the future President of the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS). Before working in Higher Education he coordinated career development learning and alternative curriculum at a secondary school in West Yorkshire. Through this experience Barrie has developed a key understanding and passion for ensuring that education is a tool to help all people develop the skills, knowledge, attributes, confidence and understanding to flourish in life and work. Throughout his career in employability and careers guidance Barrie has supported students who are neurodiverse including those with autism to make a successful transition into work or further study. Barrie has a particular interest in how recruitment can better capture the skills, abilities, and attributes of applicants with autism and ensure the right opportunities and development is there to enable them to thrive in employment.
