I am Brett Grange the Equality Lead for Greater Manchester Police Federation and my work relates to the protections in the Equality Act which is effectively the only route for Police officers to resolve disputes via employment tribunal due to our status as Crown Servants and not employees. I joined GMP in 2000, starting in Wythenshawe and then moving to Bury in 2004. The majority of my time has been in response policing with stints in neighbourhood and acquisitive crime investigation roles. I became a workplace Federation Rep in 2015 and was elected as Equality Lead in 2018.
