Eric Munro leads the decarbonisation drive at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust with the support of an enthusiastic in-house Estates team and supply chain partner in Dalkia. Eric has 30+ years of leading Estates, Facilities and Capital Development teams in central and local government, higher education and the NHS and was part of a multi-disciplinary team that advised the Mayor of London on the establishment of the original London Energy Efficiency Fund (LEEF). This fund invested all its original £90m of capital by the end of 2015 and mobilised over £420 million of external finance in innovative low carbon projects across the public sector estate in London. Eric is currently working on a partnership with the Old Oak and Park Royal Energy Network (OPEN) to add the Trust’s Hammersmith Hospital to this new heating network whilst leading the development of a water-cooled data centre for optimal heat re-use by the NHS and its education and research partners.
