Sara Jones is a Professor in Modern Languages at the University of Birmingham. She is Principal Investigator for the project Post-Socialist Britain? Memory, Representation and Political Identity amongst German, Polish and Ukrainian Immigrants in the UK, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. As part of this project, Sara and her colleagues draw on interviews with displaced Ukrainians in the UK to better understand how historical and cultural factors impact their lived experiences in the fields of housing, work and healthcare. She is co-author of the recent report Support for Displaced Ukrainians in the UK: The Role of History and Stereotypes (2023).
