Neal currently works as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) in older persons care at the Great Western Hospital, Swindon and is at present on secondment to the Bath, North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) integrated Care System (ICS) as an Advanced Practice Workforce Transformation Lead.

Qualifying as a registered nurse after training at the University of the West of England, Bristol in 2002, Neal worked in a range of specialities including coronary care, ED, ICU and acute medicine, before starting the journey to become an ACP. Finally completing an MSc in 2018, Neal was recruited as a committee member to the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Advanced Nurse Practitioner Forum in 2019 and credentialed as an advanced practitioner with the RCN in 2020.
