I am a social scientist, with interests and expertise in gender-based violence. My research aims to provide a strong evidence base for policy-makers and practitioners about what works to protect, support, and influence positive outcomes for those at risk of violence, abuse and exploitation. I am particularly interested in the mental health and intimate relationships of young people, and what can be done to protect them from harm and abuse. My research seeks to understand the nature of young people's intimate relationships in order to help shape interventions that can prevent and reduce gender-based violence, includinfg sexual harassment and online abuse. I am passionate about involving young people and survivors of abuse in research at all stages of the research process, and co-production of interventions. I am currently a co-investigator on the Family Recovery After Domestic Abuse (FReDA) study, a feasibility trial of a group-based psychoeducational intervention for children exposed to domestic abuse and their female caregiver.
