Learning Outcomes
- Examine how a multi-agency approach can be used to tackle the main issues including ensuring immediate access to housing, healthcare and employment services
- Identify systemic barriers which discriminate against rough sleepers and denying them opportunities to alleviate their issues.
- Explore how to sustain the reduction in people who are sleeping rough and reduce the flow of new people onto the streets
- Hear how to engage with vulnerable homeless people through a collaborative and community-based approach
- Improve data collection to better understand and address ‘hidden homelessness’
- Discuss and debate prevention strategies through the provision of wrap-around care to people at risk of homelessness
- Determine how policymakers can work together with the private rental sector to open-up affordable and practical housing options
- Address the relationship between domestic abuse and homelessness
