From 2006 to 2019, Carole was the Urban Scholars Programme Director. Carole’s early career as a Clinical Biochemist, scientific researcher, Head of Science, Advanced Skills Teacher and Specialist Schools Trust Lead Practitioner, combined to enable her to design, research and deliver this unique evidence-based sustained intervention programme in collaboration with Professor Valsa Koshy (MBE). Carole published research on the (Urban Scholars’) programme impact and aided by the programme’s (unique resource) 20 years of alumni and has disseminated her findings nationally. Since stepping down from this role, Carole has continued to maintain links to the programme, working part-time, alongside the two new Co-Directors. Carole's everlasting impact on the Programme has been and continues to be her focused and determined approach to developing a programme that incorporates skills and tools to enable Scholars to Think Critically about themselves and the choices ahead of them.
