David Murray – Lecturer, Pre-Entry Programmes, University of East London.

Since joining UEL in 2017 as a Lecturer in Pre-Entry Programmes, I design and deliver pre-entry access courses for mature students from widening participation backgrounds. I am very fortunate to work with a dedicated Pre-Entry Programmes Team in supporting the successful access and transition to HE for mature learners from underrepresented groups. In 2018 our innovation and success in widening participation was rewarded with the Times Higher Award for Widening Participation Initiative of the Year. Having gained a PGCE from Goldsmiths, University of London I have over 20 years’ experience of teaching in Secondary and Higher Education. I have Masters degrees from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and UEL, and I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
