Online Event 18 May 2021, 9:00am - 4:00pm
Julia's role is to promote better understanding of the role of technology in supporting wider participation priorities across the sector. She will be offering advice and guidance and practical solutions to Jisc members and colleagues on using technology to provide greater access to educational opportunity, increased independence for learners and improved retention and achievement; encouraging them to exploit the potential of mobile and personal devices to support differentiation, personalised learning and independent study.
She has been an e-learning advisor for the Jisc Regional Support Centre south west for six years with a responsibility for encouraging inclusive practice. She is a qualified classroom and online teacher with more than 20 years’ experience in specialist education, as a functional skills and IT teacher. She has worked as a tutor in ACL, WBL, FE and the Third Sector. Motivated by the responsibility to prepare all learners for an increasingly digital future she was the RSC lead advisor for e-safety.
