James Sutherland works as National Implementation Advisor – Community Mental Health within the NHS England National Mental Health Team in addition to being Head of Primary & Community Mental Health Transformation within Primary Care Sheffield and Sheffield Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Over the last 20 years James has held operational, strategic and executive roles working in the fields of mental health, substance misuse and in the voluntary sector.  More recently, James led the development of a place based provider collaborative providing community mental health transformation work in Sheffield as one of NHS England’s early implementer sites.   James has experience of developing new and innovative partnerships built on common values and principles to achieve transformation.
