Significant Achievements
• Leading the development of the Customer portal for citizens of North Yorkshire, as part of our Customer programme. I lead the in house, multidisciplinary development team to deliver an open source, fully integrated product that consistently achieves 80% online take up and positive NPS score, on the services managed through it. More recently I have lead the team to stand up RPA practice within the council with commendation from Gartner with regard to the practices implemented.
• As part of the recent LGR programme, I lead the team to deliver key corporate technology including harmonised website and staff intranet supporting the merger of 8 organisations, 600,000 citizens and over 10,000 staff, into one new council. This was alongside other significant technical developments supporting the merger including integrated IT self-service portal, over 100 new self-service forms, and support for the implementation of AI tools including IVA and chatbots. The objectives set by the leadership team for this change were ambitious however we were able to achieve outcomes over and above those of previous LGR programmes in other regions.
• Rapid stand up of products as response to critical situations including Covid pandemic and cost of living crisis. These required rapid development, MVP approach with a requirement to ensure maximum consideration for the support of the citizens of North Yorkshire. A number of products we created during the covid pandemic were accredited nationally and replicated as best practice by Public Health. Our innovative, efficient and policy challenging solution for the delivery of the Household Support Fund enabled us to offer the highest benefit per household in the country and our digital take up rate was 96%, with an NPS of 53.5, against a demographic of mainly digitally excluded individuals
