Raiyyan is a ST4 Plastic Surgery in the Wessex and Thames Valley Deanery and current ASiT President. He joined ASiT in 2021 as the Wessex Representative, continuing on as the Director of Education and Yearbook Lead subsequently. In March 2025, he was elected as President. Raiyyan graduated from Newcastle University in 2019, with an intercalated MRes in Transplant Sciences. Following this, he completed an Academic Foundation Programme and is currently a Plastic Surgery Registrar in the Thames Valley/Wessex Deanery. Through his time on executive, he has represented the views of his colleagues at multiple national fora. Taking this forward in his new role, he hopes to work closely with national stakeholders to develop a sustainable long term strategy for ASiT and continue to tackle the pressing issues surgical training currently faces in the UK.
