Helen Altshul is Chief Executive Officer of Asylum Link Merseyside, a charity supporting people seeking sanctuary across the Liverpool City Region through practical support, advice, and community connection.

She has nearly 30 years of leadership experience across international development and the charity sector, leading organisations and programmes focused on displacement, refugee protection, economic development, and resilience. She has held senior leadership roles with organisations including RefuSHE, Farm Africa, and Christian Aid, working closely with governments, UN agencies, communities, and partners in complex environments.

Helen has particular expertise in refugee inclusion and strengthening pathways to education, livelihoods, and belonging. She is also a TEDx speaker and contributes to wider discussion on recognising the talent, resilience, and potential of people forced to flee.
