Dr Jennie Stein is a senior environmental leader and Chartered Environmentalist with over a decade’s experience shaping net zero and clean growth strategies across government, industry, and academia. As Head of Net Zero at Enterprising Cumbria, she leads regional programmes focused on energy decarbonisation, climate resilience, and place-based investment. Her work spans hydrogen, nuclear, offshore wind, and emerging technologies, with a strong emphasis on aligning local delivery with national policy. A Fellow of the Institute for Sustainability and Environmental Practice (ISEP), and board member of Net Zero North West and the Society for the Environment, Jennie brings deep technical expertise and strategic insight into delivering a fair, evidence-based transition to net zero. Her leadership continues to influence sustainable infrastructure and regional energy planning across the UK.
