Seemanti joined IES as a Principal Research Fellow in September 2022. Her research focuses on mechanisms to improve human capital development, and education and employment outcomes among disadvantaged children and youth. She conducts impact evaluations and policy experiments of social policies, and often works on government-led interventions implemented at scale, in close collaboration with policymakers and other researchers. She draws upon her experience of working across academia, innovation agencies, not-for-profit organisations in UK and South Asia. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from University of Glasgow, UK. At IES, Seemanti heads the Economics team and directs all quantitative evaluation work.
