Mr Diwakar Ryali Sarma is President of the Surgery Section of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM), Director of Surgical Skills Courses at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and ACPGBI Trainer of the Year 2026. His leadership spans clinical practice, professional governance, surgical education and workforce development. He also serves as a Surgery College Tutor, RCS England Mentor and MRCS Examiner.

His work focuses on strengthening clinical leadership, developing a sustainable healthcare workforce and aligning professional education with the strategic priorities of the NHS. Combining frontline clinical expertise with national professional leadership, he brings a systems-level perspective to healthcare policy, organisational development, patient safety and service transformation.
