Chris Perry is a Consultant in Paediatric Anaesthesia, with 11 years in post at Great North Children’s Hospital. 

Graduated from Edinburgh medical school in 2002, followed by initially broad medical experience with college membership by exam, then anaesthesia training in the North East Deanery with fellowships in Auckland’s Middlemore hospital and a post-CCT fellowship in Adelaide’s Women's and Children's.

Member of the Periops Innovations Group, and is the theatre efficiency lead, paediatric anaesthesia, RVI. Currently transitional lead for dental anaesthesia.

Special interests: Paediatric deformities / scoliosis surgery. The ENT recovery. Environmental impact. Paediatric vascular access.

Chris is a surgeon/operator on Fridays – (working with anaesthetists !) – placing portacaths and surgical lines for children needing long-term intravenous access for complex medical treatments, including cancer therapies.

Chris is absolutely passionate about providing the highest quality care for individual patients, within systems performing to their best.  With patient care and experience absolutely his top stated priority, he has led on several major projects improving the systems of care and providing the best possible patient experience within the RVI and Great North Children’s Hospital.
