Online Conference 19 September 2024, 9:00am - 3:00pm
For over 13 years, Mehreen has been a dedicated recruiter specialising in the IT and technology sectors, gaining an in-depth understanding of the recruitment landscape. She is a passionate advocate for inclusive hiring practices, committed to eliminating bias and discrimination in traditional recruitment methods. Mehreen has delivered numerous training sessions on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within the industry and consistently champions equity for all.
Mehreen’s commitment to social justice and true equity drives her work, particularly in promoting inclusive workplaces for Black and Brown employees. As a Muslim, she also actively advocates for the rights and representation of Muslim employees in various organisations. On weekends, Mehreen can often be found participating in protests advocating for equal rights and a fair, just future for everyone.
Earlier this year, Mehreen co-founded Project Humanise, a Community Interest Company (CIC) focused on social justice. The organisation creates safe spaces for Muslims worldwide, fostering community connection and amplifying voices that need to be heard.
Currently, Mehreen is engaged in a project supporting and empowering SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) adults in their employment journey, a role that closely aligns with her previous work with refugees, care leavers, and prison leavers. Her mission is to ensure everyone has equal opportunities to pursue their desired roles, free from unnecessary barriers.
