Chris started his career in medicine, training to be a Cardiothoracic Surgeon. During this time, he studied for an MBA. In 2014, Chris set up the Institute of Clinical Science and Technology (ICST), with a vision to create impact in population health by using technology to be transformative in improving health outcomes.

As a thought leader, Chris brings a unique insight into the strategic delivery of an effective, efficient healthcare system on a population-wide scale, the challenges faced by frontline teams, and the behaviours of patients/ service users. ICST has demonstrated the power and capability of patients to take control of their healthcare far beyond what the current, paternalistic healthcare system allows.

This ethos is reflected in the unique digital system that Chris and the team ICST have developed, improving health outcomes for patients and reducing burden on the health service. This paradigm shift in healthcare through the ICST Virtual Health system is a sustainable digital behaviour change system. This has achieved successful outcomes and is a winner of multiple national awards in digital and population health.
