Dr Khatidja Chantler is Professor of Gender, Equalities and Communities at Manchester Metropolitan University. She leads the Global Perspectives, Marginalisation and Thriving Communities Research Cluster. Professor Chantler’s key areas of research expertise are gender-based violence, particularly within minoritised communities, self-harm, gender and ethnicity and she is an internationally known expert on forced marriage research. She was the Principal Investigator on a recently completed study on domestic homicides. Professor Chantler is working on several national and international research projects on gender-based violence and is widely published in national and international journals and is author of several book chapters and co-editor of three books.
