Refuge

Bo is a Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer at Refuge. Alongside this, she is a PhD researcher in socio-legal studies. Refuge is the largest specialist provider of gender-based violence services in the country, supporting thousands of women and children on any given day. It provides a national network of 44 refuges, community outreach programmes, child support services and independent advocacy services for those experiencing domestic, sexual, and gender-based violence. Refuge also runs specialist services for survivors of tech abuse, modern slavery, ‘honour’-based violence, and female genital mutilation. It runs the 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline which receives hundreds of calls from women experiencing domestic abuse every day.
