Royal Free Hospitals NHS Trust

Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon

I was appointed as a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Barnet Hospital in 2002 and currently work at The Royal Free Hospitals NHS Trust. I provide high-quality general, colorectal, endoscopic, and paediatric surgical services.

I perform robotic and bowel cancer surgery at The Wellington Hospital, general paediatric procedures at The Portland Hospital, and various minor and intermediate surgeries, including hernia repairs, haemorrhoid surgery, and endoscopy, across multiple locations.

After qualifying from the Royal London Hospital in 1989, I trained in North East Thames and the South East, including Guy’s Hospital. I was a Clinical Fellow in Australia, treating colorectal cancer, trauma, and burns patients.

As a consultant, I introduced laparoscopic and robotic colorectal surgery in London and the South East. I also established a TEMS service for rectal tumours and specialize in hernia repairs and abdominal wall reconstruction.

Previously Clinical Lead for Endoscopy at Barnet, I contributed to Bowel Cancer Screening initiatives. I teach MRCS courses, train surgeons, and run London HALO courses for haemorrhoids. I have published research, delivered lectures, and organized multidisciplinary surgical training.
