Claire Thompson is a multifaceted professional who wears many hats. As the Neurodiversity Ambassador for the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society, she promotes greater acceptance of neurological differences. She provides creative expression and talking therapies to support individuals with neurological differences, such as autism and ADHD, in her private practice.
Claire is a passionate advocate for the neurodivergent community, delivering bespoke training workshops and amplifying the voices and perspectives of those who identify as being part of a neuro minority group. Her interdisciplinary PhD research explores the intergenerational impact of the conflict in Northern Ireland, with a focus on understanding the role of community art therapy in building local resilience.
Beyond her clinical and academic pursuits, Claire serves as a board member for the British Association of Art Therapists and a peer reviewer, demonstrating her dedication to the field and commitment to advancing the profession. Throughout her multifaceted career, Claire has consistently shown her passion for supporting and advocating for individuals with neurological differences.
