John has worked in the field of carbon reduction for over twenty years, after working as a university researcher in industrial safety. Starting in sustainable transport, he then moved to a consultancy helping organisations to improve their energy efficiency, tackle fuel poverty and install renewables. There he designed some of the UK’s first carbon action plans for local authorities and third-sector organisations.
John worked at the University of Bristol’s estates department on a variety of data-led behavioural, control and infrastructure projects aimed at reducing the cost and carbon impact of the University’s utilities. He has contributed data and expertise to academic research on carbon reduction and smart grid solutions.
John started at TEC in August 2023 as Head of Carbon Reduction. His role will be to set the strategic direction, and focus, for TEC to provide our Members with low carbon solutions that align to their Net Zero plans.
