Raised in rural Lincolnshire David worked in London and Birmingham before moving with his family to Somerset in 1992. In business David has a wide range of operational experience including manufacturing, Childrens Homes and Older People care.  Most recently he has been Director of HR for a large family owned South West employer operating across 38 sites.  

In addition to his first Degree, David is a fully qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Warwick University. 

As well as being a County Councillor David has also been Chair of his local Parish Council, a Governor at a large C of E primary school and for over ten years has chaired a very successful fund raising committee in his own village.
