Michelle Lee-Izu is the Corporate Director of Barnardo’s Development and Innovation (D&I). The D&I Directorate focuses on understanding emerging needs and developing services and solutions to achieve better outcomes for vulnerable children, young people and families. This is achieved through strategic partnerships, digital and blended solutions, as well as through systems change. Michelle has extensive experience as a senior leader in the field of Children’s Services both in the third sector and statutory agencies - working at an operational and strategic level. Michelle has been highly successful in developing new approaches, models, products and services and is known for her innovative approach to solving wicked problems. She has worked with and advised the Government on a range of services for children, young people and families - both in the UK and internationally. Michelle has also run her own management consultancy business. Barnardo’s is the UK’s largest children’s charity running around 800 delivery programmes. Barnardo’s has around 7,822 employees and 14,000 volunteers, providing services to 358,000 vulnerable children, young people and families.
