Dr Richard Nelson is an Educational Developer at the University of Bradford and the Vice President of Online Learning and Development at Qaspir (www.qaspir.com ).
After a career in Software Development, Dr Richard Nelson has spent over 17 years teaching at all levels from secondary to post-graduate. He has chaired strategy groups, developed organization policy, and worked on several national and international projects, working with colleagues from the USA, Brazil, Panama, India, China, and Nigeria. Richard’s passion is the science of learning, in particular blended and online learning. Richard’s Doctorate research explored teachers’ perspectives of, and negotiations with, blended learning spaces and exposed some interesting findings on teacher/instructor identity. Richard is currently supporting curriculum development at the University of Bradford helping academics use the best of pedagogy and technology. and is currently leading the development of Qaspir’s Qedex (www.qedex.org ) global community professional development platform for higher education academics and staff around the world. Richard leads a team of instructional designers in India and works with a network of expert instructors around the globe. When he is not surrounded by all things teaching and learning, he is surrounded by the Yorkshire countryside as he enjoys running, hiking, or strumming his guitar in the garden.
