Aisling Barker is the VAWG Operational Adviser in the Cabinet Office’s Test Learn and Grow Accelerator programme, on secondment from her position as the VAWG workforce development manager for Islington Council. A qualified social worker with 17 years’ experience in child protection, she is a leading expert dedicated to improving domestic abuse practice across disciplines. Aisling has developed and facilitated critical training for numerous organizations, including the Met Police and the NHS. Her current focus is on emerging areas and systemic responses, specifically non-fatal strangulation and teenage relationship abuse, and their vital interaction with safeguarding policies and practice.
