Chris Green OBE

Founder of White RibbonUK and Co-founder Male Allies Challenging Sexism

Chris Green OBE is a globally recognised leader in engaging men to challenge male violence and sexist attitudes. As the founder of White Ribbon UK, he built the organisation from the ground up into a respected national movement harnessing the power of sport, music, education, and emergency services to inspire men to become allies for gender equality.

Appointed by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon as a UN Leader of Men, Chris also served as one of only two men on the Council of Europe Task Force to End Violence Against Women, contributing to the creation of the landmark Istanbul Convention—Europe’s first legally binding framework to combat gender-based violence.

His contributions have earned wide recognition, including being named Cosmopolitan Magazine’s Ultimate Man (2007), carrying the Olympic Torch (2012) and Commonwealth Games Torch (2022), and receiving the Compassion in Politics Award (2020) and Ambassador for Peace honour.

A sought-after public speaker and trainer, Chris has addressed audiences from the Council of Europe Assembly to the UK Parliament, and worked with diverse groups including the police, fire service, schools, universities, and sports organisations. His media appearances span BBC, Channel 4, and international radio outlets.

Chris continues to inspire global audiences with his passionate advocacy for men’s active involvement in creating a world free from gender-based violence.

After leading White Ribbon Campaign for 15 years, he co-founded Male Allies Challenging Sexism, to concentrate on involving men in challenging all forms of abuse towards women.
