Tom's earlier research investigated credit scoring and the emergence of innovations linked to residential securitization, before turning to examine wholesale-retail bank linkages and wealth management. He has worked on consultancy projects concerning SMEs for Barclays Bank and other stakeholders, including the EU. Tom’s ongoing work concerns residential real-estate and its intersection with grand challenges, specifically digital disruption and ESG. He has recently published work on the rise of the UK’s rental proptech sector and its potential to change the structure of the PRS.

Tom is an accredited Trainer at the Open Data Institute and currently serves on the steering committee of the Real Estate Data (RED) Foundation, chairing its Data Research and Academia group.
