Higher Education Policy Institute (HEPI)

Megan Bowler is a postgraduate student in Classical Languages and Literature at the University of Oxford. She wrote a report for the Higher Education Policy Institute, A Languages Crisis? (2020), which considers the state of language learning in the UK in both school and HE contexts, proposing possible ways to mitigate declines in uptake and interest. This publication sparked conversations in the press about the place of MFL in education. She continued to blog in a series for HEPI and writes for the Chartered Institute of Linguists on languages policy issues.
