Ish Ahmed is a Consultant Upper GI and Emergency General Surgeon at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and Associate Director of Information Systems. He leads the Trust CareScan traceability programme, overseeing the rollout of point of care scanning and inventory management across theatres and clinical services.

He is a GIRFT Associate in General Surgery, contributing to national work on emergency gallbladder services and reducing variation in surgical care. Ish previously served as Clinical Systems Safety Officer and Trust Lead for NatSSIPs and Consent.

His work brings together patient safety, digital transformation and financial value, with a focus on translating digital systems into safer theatre practice, more reliable workflow and stronger financial stewardship. He is currently undertaking a Diploma in NHS Finance with HFMA.
