Chief Executive

Anthea Sully became Chief Executive of White Ribbon UK, in March 2018. She has spoken at national and international events and worked to ensure that primary prevention of violence against women through engaging with all men and boys is firmly on the policy agenda. 

Beginning her career in community arts in 1994 Anthea founded the ground-breaking Goldhay Arts, for artists and performers with learning disabilities. Anthea has led high profile campaigns for a number of charities and voluntary organisations, she was Director of the Learning Disability Coalition, campaigning to increase the funding and quality of social care and led the social justice work for the Methodist Church in Britain, holding responsibility for all national and international affairs. Anthea has also been a leading Peterborough City Councillor, vice chair of Peterborough Women’s Centre and a trustee of Action for Children, and the Association for Real Change.

Her research interests include human rights law and the funding of social care for people with learning disabilities and working with applied theatre to encourage positive masculinity with men with learning disabilities.
