Barry May is an accomplished and experienced strategic leader in local government. He has over 25 years’ experience across finance, digital, customer service, commercial and delivery of transformation across large and complex organisations. As the strategic lead for Customer, Digital and the Commercial function at the London Borough of Barnet, Barry shapes and drives the council’s customer and digital strategies, enabling savings and ensuring service complexity is made simple. 

Barry has led major digital transformation programmes, managed substantial outsourced contracts, and overseen large multidisciplinary teams. Recognised for his innovative and strategic approach, Barry is passionate about designing creative, insight-led solutions that enhance resident experience, strengthen digital inclusion, and support continuous improvement.
