Charlotte Cooke

LGBT Foundation

Director of Services

I have been fortunate enough to be part of team LGBT Foundation for the past 11 years, moving into a role providing leadership over our front-line programmes of specialist support services in 2017. I hold expertise in the areas of sexual health, mental health and wellbeing, domestic abuse and sexual violence, substance misuse recovery and community safety. I am currently responsible for clinical leadership, safeguarding, best practice compliance, contract management and sustainable growth. Working in the VCSE sector since 2008, my key areas of experience include strategic leadership, mental health, community-led initiatives, and programmatic development. I sit on the GM VCSE Mental Health Leadership group as an Equalities Lead, as well as the GM VCFE Population Health Leadership group, ensuring our communities voices are heard across the sector, and within statutory services and commissioning. I also sit on the Greater Manchester, Liverpool, and national Fast Track Cities steering groups, contributing to the aim of ending HIV in a generation. I am also a qualified therapist and have delivered support for individuals affected by loss and bereavement. I’m a mum of one, with a blended family, and a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. Working with my community has been an incredibly meaningful experience and led to significant learnings about the experiences, barriers, and health inequalities we face throughout our lives.
