Dr Rachel Shaw is a Health Psychologist and Reader in Psychology in the College of Health & Life Sciences, Aston University, Birmingham.

Her research interests include: Well-being in professional practice: maintaining well-being among healthcare professionals, theoretically informed interventions for preparing healthcare professionals for working in high-pressure environments & to improve wellbeing; Lifeworld-led care: the meanings of care, experiences of care provision and being a recipient of care, co-production of experience-informed - or a lifeworld-led - care drawn from phenomenological or experience-focused qualitative research; Evidence-based healthcare: synthesis of diverse evidence, meta-synthesis of qualitative or mixed design studies.

Dr Shaw has many publications and book chapters outlining her empirical research and about the development and application of qualitative methodologies.
