Anne is the Assistant Director for Education and Standards in the Professional Practice directorate at the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Her role includes responsibility for ensuring we meet our statutory duty in relation to the Education and Standards we set. Anne has led on the delivery of the strategic education change programme at the NMC that has successfully published new standards for Future Nurse, Future Midwife, education and training standards that includes the new standards for student supervision and assessment, and nurse and midwife prescriber standards. She is now working on the review of our remaining post registration standards.

Anne is a registered children’s nurse and adult nurse. Prior to joining the NMC in 2010 Anne held senior roles in higher education within nursing, midwifery and medical education. During her career she has also held clinical and practice development roles in NHS settings, in Scotland and England
