Director of Apprenticeships at Manchester Metropolitan University, Liz leads on the development and delivery of Degree Apprenticeships across the university. Liz and her team are now working with over 550 global corporates, public sector organisations and SMEs to develop and successfully provide future-focused, new routes into higher education that address high-priority skills shortages and support key workers who are essential for society.
With over 2,700 apprentices on programme, including many award winners and high levels of student and employer satisfaction, Liz and the team have successfully grown the portfolio while maintaining quality, as evidenced by the recent Ofsted inspection where they were graded Outstanding.
Liz has been committed to Degree Apprenticeships since their inception, she regularly presents at conferences and has played an active role in many national trailblazer groups. Liz chairs an international network of universities who are developing Degree Apprenticeships and advises employers, universities and government bodies on setting up these innovative programmes in the UK, New Zealand, Australia, Spain and Canada. Previously holding senior roles in diverse education sectors, she has substantial experience of leadership and management and partnership development in a variety of settings.
