Gill is the Chief Executive of Fortalice Ltd in Bolton. Fortalice provides refuge accommodation and over 22 projects for victims of Domestic Abuse in the community.
Gill started her career in education, gaining her qualification to become a lecturer in Further Education, before being one of the first lecturers to gain QTLS status. Gills curriculum areas were in teacher education, psychology and quality assuring teaching in preparation for OFSTED.
In 2011, Gill changed her career of 28 years in education and became Chief Executive for the organisation, and has developed a specialist Children and Young People service for children who have suffered the effects of domestic abuse.
Gill developed a more collaborative way of working and was instrumental in working with colleagues to form three new companies, 1Point (a gateway in to talking therapies), Bolton Together (children and young people’s consortium) and the period poverty charity, Fresh as a Daisy. Gill continues in her role as a director for 1Point and Bolton Together.
Gill also continues to work in a range of voluntary roles including being a Governor in primary and further education and is a member of the Police Independent Advisory Panel. As a BACP regulated Counsellor and clinical supervisor, Gill continues her private practice and works with clients when time allows.
