Sarah Baker was appointed Deputy Director of the Disability Unit in the Cabinet Office in February 2020. She is responsible for the Unit’s work to improve the lives of disabled people, working with disabled people, disabled people’s organisations, charities, government and business.

She was previously head of youth policy in the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

Before this Sarah worked in the Department for Education on early years policy, and in a number of roles in the Cabinet Office, focusing on the Civil Society agenda and working to the Cabinet Secretary on improving the performance of government departments.

Before joining the Civil Service Sarah was a housing officer.
