Dr Sarah Ryan is an Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Research Leader at the University of Manchester. Her research focuses on investigating the role of the immune system in frontotemporal dementia and motor neuron disease. She completed a BSc in Neuroscience at the University of Leeds in 2008, followed by an MSc in Neuroscience with specialisation in neurodegeneration at King’s College, London in 2010. She then worked as Experimental Officer in the Protein Chemistry department at Covance before completing her PhD in dementia research at the University of Manchester in 2015. She worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate for several years before securing an Alzheimer’s Society Junior Research Fellowship in 2019.
