Laura joined the Metropolitan Police in 2000 having studied Psychology and Criminology at university. During her early career, Laura specialised in safeguarding investigations focusing on stranger rapes and inter-familiar child abuse. Laura has been deployed as a family liaison officer and has recently taken on the role of family liaison co-ordinator.
Laura is currently a senior investigating officer on Central Specialist Crime Modern Slavery and Child Exploitation. She is also the tactical policy advisor for child sexual exploitation across London working with police and partners to find innovative ways to support child victims and target perpetrators. Laura has assisted with the new Child Exploitation Pan London Protocol due to be launched in March 2021.
