Elizabeth is Associate Professor of Political Economy at the University of Sydney. She is a leading researcher on the future of women, work and care in Australia and the Asian region. She is co-convenor of the landmark Body@Work Project, Deputy Director of the Gender Equality in Working Life (GEWL) Research Initiative at the University of Sydney, and leads the Australian Work and Family Policy Roundtable. Elizabeth has extensive research experience on women’s working lives, including as Chief Investigator of the Australian Research Council (ARC) Women’s Working Futures Project, which includes the development of a new empirical database and academic analysis of gender and the future of work in Australia, Japan and the United Kingdom. She leads impactful research collaborations with government, industry and community organisations, as well as leading international organisations such as the International Labour Organization and UN Women. She is routinely invited to brief state and federal policy makers, bureaucrats, and politicians on research-informed policy design. She is an experienced Director of for-purpose boards and an in-demand speaker for industry, government, and multilateral organisations.
