Ross Mardell

Verto

Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer

Ross Mardell is Chief Product Officer and co-founder of TMI Systems, where he leads product direction, solution architecture, and information security for Verto. With more than 25 years of experience spanning the public and private sectors, Ross has built a career on making complex IT concepts simple, accessible, and impactful for organisations and their users.

A First-Class BSc graduate in Software Engineering, Ross began his career in senior technical roles at Oracle and Intel, architecting and managing large-scale systems for clients such as the BBC, Channel 4, and FIFA. He went on to found a successful software company specialising in Local Government Children’s Services, later acquired by Capita, where he subsequently held a senior role within its Children’s Services division.

At Verto, Ross has overseen the early-stage integration of AI-driven tools that enhance reporting, automate repetitive tasks, and help teams maintain clarity over risk, dependencies, and performance. He is a strong advocate for responsible, outcomes-focused AI, believing that technology should be a force multiplier, not a gimmick.

Ross has also held senior IT leadership positions at Peterborough City Council, Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council, and Cambridgeshire County Council, driving digital transformation, IT strategy, and service turnarounds. His ability to bridge the gap between technology and business need continues to shape Verto’s vision: building secure, intuitive tools that help public sector organisations deliver complex programmes with clarity, confidence, and measurable outcomes.
