Damilola Ogungbemi is a Data Scientist on the Data Science Development Programme at the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA). With an MSc in Biotechnology and a published research paper advancing knowledge in cell biology, she brings a strong scientific foundation to her work in health data science.
Damilola's expertise lies in analysing complex health data to drive meaningful insights, with an interest on the responsible and equitable use of artificial intelligence in healthcare, including the critical challenges of data bias and ensuring AI systems perform fairly across diverse populations. She is passionate about understanding how AI shapes society and its potential to transform patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.
In her current role at LIDA, she works on data projects designed to deliver public good, contributing to the growing evidence base for ethical, real-world AI implementation across various domains.
