Principal AI Policy and Innovation Lead

Kerry Sheehan is Principal AI Policy and Innovation Lead, working across technical and non‑technical disciplines at the intersection of AI and quantum regulation, and the energy sector.

Kerry focuses on the development and adaption of ethical AI guidance and regulatory approaches, including regulatory tools such as the AI Reg Lab, to support the responsible deployment of AI across Britain’s energy system, bridging emerging technologies with policy, governance, and consumer protection to enable innovation and sustainability.

Her work focuses on translating complex AI technologies into practical regulatory approaches, testing emerging AI applications against the energy regulatory framework, and identifying and mitigating risks as capabilities evolve.

Kerry is a CSaP Fellow (Centre for Science and Policy, University of Cambridge), a former Advisor to The Alan Turing Institute, former Head of Service Development and Innovation, and has been recognised as one of the 100 Global Women in AI Ethics and by the National AI Awards.
