Kat Sexton is currently serving as Deputy Director for Local AI at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), leading the department’s mission to embed responsible, human‑centred AI across local public services. With a background in digital leadership and service design across local government and higher education, she previously helped establish the Birmingham Foundry to drive sustainable digital transformation and citizen‑focused digital change. Kat is committed to improving public service outcomes by strengthening AI capability, data maturity and safe innovation across the local government sector.
