The Third National Energy and Sustainability in the Public Sector Conference and Exhibition 2025

Salford Community Stadium 25 February 2025, 9:00am - 4:00pm

Overview

The UK has pledged to lead the charge against climate change with a legally binding commitment to achieve Net Zero by 2050. But how do we transform this ambition into action and reality?

Achieving Net Zero is our scientifically proven path to halting the devastating impacts of climate change. But turning this goal into reality demands extraordinary action from every organisation and business, backed by seamless collaboration between the public and private sectors.

In December 2024, the new Labour Government unveiled the Clean Power 2030 Action Plan—an initiative to transform Britain into a clean energy superpower. This plan aims not only to drive a shift to renewable energy, but also to reclaim control over the nation’s energy sources and achieve true energy independence. By fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors, investing in renewable energy, and prioritising sustainability, the government is committed to achieving clean power by 2030. This vision also aims to create thousands of new jobs throughout low carbon sectors, lower energy bills, and deliver a cleaner future for all.

However, despite policy advances, achieving Net Zero across the UK still presents significant challenges. Many barriers still exist across both the public and private sectors, slowing or completely halting the progress towards making Net Zero a reality.

The Institute of Government and Public Policy is renowned for bringing together the public and private sectors, and our conferences and events are a catalyst for fostering connections, sparking collaboration, and turning green ambitions into impactful actions.

Building on the success of last year's conference and exhibition, the Third National Energy and Sustainability Conference and Exhibition 2025 is coming to Manchester to provide a platform for valuable discussions that will help to make the green ambitions a reality. The Institute of Government & Public Policy's Third National Energy and Sustainability Conference 2025 will bring together thought leaders and industry experts who will explore strategic examples of driving towards net zero, the importance of collaborating, partnering and engaging with businesses, stakeholders and local residents in the fight against climate change.

Join us for the Third National Energy and Sustainability Conference and Exhibition to explore strategies and examples for meeting green targets and enhancing efficiency, propelling the nation toward a more sustainable, secure, and economically prosperous energy future.
